| This is for the blue hand badge.
This class will be marked as normal by your professor, but you have to PM me your answers then I will forward them, thank you.
So as it says in the title we are going to be translating poetry today *grins* So I'm going to give you a really old (in age and in language) poem, for you to translate and tell me what is going on in it.
The poem that you will be translating is 'The twa Corbies.'
As I was walking all alane, I saw twa Corbies making a mane; The tane unto the t'other say, 'Where should we gang and dine today?'
'In behint yon auld fail dyke, I wot there lies a new slain knight; And neabody kens that he lies there, But his hawk, his hound, and his lady fair.
'His houn is to the hunting gane, His hawk to fetch the wild fowl hame, His lady's ta'en another mate, so we may mak our dinner sweet.
'Ye'll sit opn his white house bane, And I'll pike out his bonny blue een; Wi ae lock o his golden hair We'll thick our nest when it grows bare.
'Mony a one for him makes mane, But none shall ken where he is gane; Oer his white bones, when they are bare, The wind shall blaw for evermair.'
I'll tell you now, there is no spelling mistakes in that as i have checked it three times alrady and i see nothing wrong with it. What I want you to do is just explain everything on each line... line at a time...
Any questions please PM me.
Thank you.. Pickles.
