Hi guys! This class is for my Blue Hand Badge and will be graded by the current Art, Drama and Creative Writing Professor. Thanks!
We all know that music plays an important part in the tone and excitement in a movie, and now it’s time to explore this even further!
In this class, you’ll need to pick two instances in a movie (it can be from the same movie or two different movie) in which you feel the music adds to the scene. Discuss how the music affects the tone and impacts the viewer as well as composers choices (dynamics, instruments, lack of music) that may have made the scene more dramatic (tension, excitement, sorrow, comedy, ect). Each analysis will earn you 50 housepoints!
Requirements:
-please make sure to give the title of the movie, piece of music, and composer
-include a link to at least the music (if you can’t find the scene anywhere)
-each discussion of the two pieces of music must be at least 250 words long
Total for Section: 50 points
Bonus: Want to go a step further? Discuss one example of a movie where the music did not add to the scene but seemed to contradict the mood instead. Remember, this is your opinion so there’s really no wrong answer! The analysis should be at least 150 words long and is worth 50 points.
Total on Completion: 100 points
