:: As the sun started to shine through the royal blue curtains, some Ravenclaws started to stir from bed. The sun wasn’t as bright as most days but that was no matter for today was Halloween. There were costumes to finish and treats to make. Everyone of course knew this was one of the most special days around Hogwarts, besides Christmas of course. You knew that mid-terms just finished and you were able to party and dress up. ::
:: Herby rolled over as a huge commotion started happening within her room. Apparently Lily and Elana were having another fight, this of course wasn’t anything new to Herby. With a grown Herby stretched a bit and quickly headed towards the showers. ::
“Oh, Man” ::Herby replied when she saw the line-up for the showers. How on earth was she suppose to get ready?::
:: After about an hour in line, Herby finally got her turn at that shower. Feeling way better Herby decided to get dress and head downstairs for Lunch. ::
:: Down in the great hall, students stirred around every corner and crevice. Forks and knifes continued to scrape plates as Herby took her seat at her table. ::
“So, Herby” ::Asked Legendary. “Are you all ready for tonight?”
:: Herby of course smiled a bit and replied with a small nod. She was a bit taken back and didn’t really know what to say. This was probably the first time he had ever spoken to her with other people in the room. Flushing a bit Herby replied. ::
“So, what are you going as?”
“Doctor Jackal and Mr. Hyde” :: Legendary replied. ::
“What?” ::asked Herby :: “What is that?”
:: Herby of course grew up in the wizarding world and she never heard muggles stories such as this one.::
“You know, Jackal and Hyde.”
:: Herby was a bit embarrassed and nodded once more. ::
“And you?” ::he asked ::
:: Herby took one more spoon full of pudding and replied. ::
“Harry Potter of course. “
“What?” :: screamed Legendary
:: It seemed a few classmates over heard Herby and was now staring at her. ::
“I said, Harry Potter.” :: Herby said a little bit louder. ::
:: Laughter and giggles floated about the table. ::
“But your a girl.” ::a fellow classmate reminded Herby. ::
“Of course she knows she’s a girl, Rigby.” ::Legendary stated before Herby could defend herself. ::
“Who cares who she is? It’s Halloween. And Herby can dress up as anyone she wishes.” ::said Lily ::
“Ya” :: Interrupted Elana. “At least Herbys being honest, unlike some of you.” ::Elana glared at a few people as everyone quickly became quiet. ::
:: A small smirk formed on Herbys face as she realized it wasn’t that big of deal that her table thought she was the laughing stock of the Ravenclaw table, but it was truly a great feeling to know that your friends always have your back; even if you dress up like Harry Potter. ::

Rowena stretched out her arms in front of her. Looking out of her window onto the vast lands of Hogwarts castle it took her a while to realise that it was Halloween. One of her favourite parts of the year. Scrabbling out of her bed she dressed in her evil fairy costume. It was still early so settling down Rowena began to read a spooky muggle book. Many hours later she heard Helga calling her name. Making an exasperated sigh Rowena placed the book on the bed side table and went down. Helga was dressed as a pumpkin. It fitted her round friendly face perfectly. As a few of the small apprentices walked by she waved at them even though they were not her own to teach. Guessing that they were Salazar’s by the fact that when he walked past they all bowed and curtsied. “Hey Sal” she said walking over to him. He was dressed as a vampire having used a growth spell on two of his teeth to enlarge them and making fake blood he looked very much the part. His skin already pasty now enhanced by a palling charm looked practically ghostly. “Happy Halloween Wena.” He said playfully.
“How many times Sal its Rowena not wena.” Rolling her eyes she saw Godric come bundling down the hall. Immediately Helga’s face turned tomato red at the sight of him. Giggling to herself about the knowledge that Helga was totally in love with Godric she waved towards him. “Aha heres God.” Salazar announced throwing a small punch at his best friend. “Happy Halloween buddy.” The two men then produced bottles of firewhiskey from beneath their costumes. “Cheers” they said in unison hitting their bottles together.
“Men” I whispered beneath my breath before walking of towards the great hall where all the students were now gathering. A long thin table was set through the middle. Taking my seat a few of what I like to call the Ravenclaw’s slid over to sit next to me.
With the day passing merely uneventful evening came and with it so did the Halloween ball. In the small circular tower where the four of them came together to talk they decided that as the students were going with dates so would they. “Helga you go with Godric I will go with Sal.” I said knowing that being able to go to the dance with Godric would make her day.
“Aw I wanted to go with Sal.” Godric said giddily. Rolling my eyes towards the ceiling I excited the room.
“Come on you guys were going to be late.” I called up the marble staircase. Scurrying from the room her arm encircled through Godric’s, Helga looked positively happy. Beaming down at me she began to chatter with Godric. Talking Sal’s arm I walked with him into the great hall. A small local band was playing from the village and all the villagers were here for the Halloween party. Dancing, chatting, eating and scaring went on throughout the night. Though most of the tricks were done by Godric who did rather like to have a joke. Sal joined in occasionally and when the dancing began to die down. Helga took to standing next to the table eating and I buried myself in my book. At 12pm I decided that it was now late and we should all be going to bed. Standing up I walked over to the stage area taking the mic I announced that the party was over and that I had been thoroughly enjoyed it blah blah blah. As Sal walked me back to my tower bedroom after everyone had left he looked extremely giddy. Rolling my eyes I wondered how many bottles of firewhiskey he had drank down to get this drunk. Deciding it was better not to ask I gave him a small peck on the cheek and went into my room. “Hey don’t leave me wena.” He said stumbling in after me. Shaking my head I led him to my sofa grabbing a pillow and a blanket I decided that it was best to let him sleep there I was to tired myself to take him to his room. Laying down to sleep I heard the small wheezing noise of his snores.
Its 11pm I will do my graphic tomorrow

(I went a little overboard on the word count XD sorry about that XD)
A group of seventeen year old boys sat at the Gryffindor table, eating everything in sight. It was Halloween morning, so the normal breakfast was a bit sweeter. You might recognize these boys as the infamous Marauders. The most well known pranksters in the school, also the most popular group in the school. The group was made up of James Potter and Sirius Black, the two ringleaders, Remus Lupin, the shy, smart prefect of the group, and Peter Pettigrew, the one no one knew how he got into the group. They were putting the following touches on their Halloween prank, while stuffing their faces. Which is probably why they didn’t hear Dumbledore.
“Good morning everyone! I have an important announcement to make!” he said, cheerfully. “This year we are going to do things a bit more muggle style. Also, we will be having a dance, tonight.”
A group of whispers broke out at this, some people were talking excitedly about what this meant. Most where confused. What did he mean muggle style? Muggle style Halloween was different then that of the wizarding world’s?
“What I mean to say is that you shall be allowed to wear costumes, a special trip has been planned to go to Hogsmade this afternoon, so that you all can find something to wear,” Dumbledore said, feeling quite pleased with himself. “You can go back to your breakfasts now.”
“Oh I can’t believe it!” said a first year muggle-born sitting not to far from the Marauders.
“Me either!” squealed her friend. “I wonder if this means we’ll get to go Trick-or-Treating… I mean we’ll have costumes and everything! This muggle style Halloween idea is Dumbledore’s best yet!”
The Marauders, who were done planning looked up with raised eyebrows. Having not been playing attention to Dumbledore, they had no clue what was going on.
“Trick-or-Treating?” Sirius questioned.
“Costumes?” James repeated.
“Muggle-style?” Remus mused, this could be fun.
“I wonder if there will be cheese?” Peter asked.
The other three Marauders turned to Peter, looking at him as if he were insane. Cheese? Seriously he was asking about cheese? They briefly wondered why they were friends with him. None of the three boys could come up with a legitimate reason at the current moment.
“Mooney what does this mean?” James asked turning to Remus, deciding to ignore Peter at this moment in time.
“Well muggles have this thing were they dress up in costumes, and go from door to door asked for candy,” he explained. “The reason they say trick or threat is because if you don’t get candy from the house you’re suppose to pull a trick on them.”
“Candy?!” Sirius exclaimed happily. “Why didn’t you say so Mooney? I love candy! This is gonna be so fun!”
“Erm- Sirius I hate to burst your bubble, but trick-or-treating is for kids,” Remus said.
Both James and Sirius looked at Remus with unchanging expressions. “So?” they asked. Not going to let something as unimportant as it being for kids stand between them and candy.
Remus sighed as he realized this and decided to change his tactics. “There aren’t any houses to go get candy from.”
“Darn! You’re right,” James said, as he and Sirius began to sulk.
“I thought that there were four houses…” Peter said, confused. Three muffins, one half eaten, flew at him.
The four boys entered Hogsmade, which had several shops now sporting costumes traditional to that of what a muggle would wear. They went to the first one they saw and immediately began looking. Peter decided what he wanted right away, and even against his fellow Marauders protest, bought it. James, Sirius, and Remus however, decided to be a bit more sensible.
“Oy! Prongs I found the perfect costume for you!” Sirius yelled to his best friend after they all had split up within the store.
“What is it Padfoot?” James asked, from a rack he was currently looking at.
“Lily Evan’s perfect man!” He replied, trying to keep his tone serious.
“Really?!” James was in front of Sirius in less time then thought possible.
Remus shook his head as Sirius burst into laughter. “Prongs, he wasn’t being serious…”
“What? Yes I was, that’s exactly how I act!” Sirius said with a grin. He looked the serious/Sirius joke.
He rest of the boys groaned and went back to looking for costumes. Today was going to be a long day.
After a few hours of looking for costumes, and successfully finding them, the boys headed back. James went up to the Head’s Common Room, which he shared with Lily Evans. He couldn’t believe his luck, he got to share a common room with the woman of his dreams. It was too bad she hated his guts. He’d tried to change, but she refused to see the differences in him. He wished that she would pay more attention to him, maybe then she’d notice…
Just then said Lily, walked out of her room and into the common room. He expected her to walk right past him, as she normally did, but instead she walked right up to him and smiled brightly at him.
“Hello James,” she said sweetly. By this time he was thinking that it was a dream, it had to be, Lily was never this nice to him… or called him James.
“Hello Lily,” he replied, it was a dream after all. What could actually happen.
“Listen James, can I ask you for a tiny favor?” she asked.
“Anything!” he said immediately.
“Oh but don’t you wanna hear what I want first?” she looked kind of surprised that he agreed so quickly, without question.
“Well…” his logical side began to kick in, he should know what he was agreeing to before he agreed. “Okay, yeah I wanna know.”
“I thought you might,” she said. “See the thing is that this year I think it’d be better if there wasn’t a Marauder prank…”
“No Marauder prank!?” James exclaimed, no matter how much of a goddess she was he couldn’t agree with that one. “I can’t do that Lily, I’m sorry.”
She looked a bit upset with him. “Fine, Potter I knew you hadn’t changed.”
No this wasn’t really fair to James. First, Lily tried to use him. Then, she insulted him and made an unfair assumption. He sighed as he watched her stomp out of the common room. He wasn’t sure how yet, but he’d make it up to her. He sat and thought for a moment, then a grin lit up his face. This was gonna be perfect.
The four marauders walked down into the great hall separately. Which was all part of James’s brilliant
plan. The first one to enter the hall was Sirius, who was dressed as a vampire. He had a long, black cape that was placed on top of his other black clothing. He’d also magically altered his teeth for the occasion. He was easily recognizable and a flock of girls immediately came to his side. He grinned and flirted with them shamelessly. Next to come down was Remus, he was dressed as a spy from one of those muggle movies he’d watched. He too was recognizable, and a few girls came after him. After that Peter came down in his cheese costume. Everyone looked at him oddly and laughed at him, he smiled happily thinking that they were laughing with him not at him.
Everyone waited for James to come down next, but he didn’t. Instead a few more girls and their dates. They all frowned, what could this mean. After a few moments of waiting for him, they gave up. About ten minutes later, James walked down the stairs dressed as Zorro. He had charmed his hair to make it not stick up in it’s usual fashion and he thought the mask concealed his identity pretty well. He soon found he was right, because as he walked down into the great hall, no one even glanced twice at him. He grinned at his own brilliance and headed over to the punch bowl where he saw Lily. She had dyed her hair a blond color and it looked shorter, it was pulled up into a bun in the back of her head. She was wearing a light green dress with wings attached to the back. On her feet she wore like green slippers that had white ball of what looked like cotton.
He made his way over to her, tapping on her back lightly. When she turned around and looked at him curiously, he smiled in spite of himself. He had no clue that he’d be this unrecognizable.
“Can I help you?” she asked, titling her head slightly.
“Well yes actually you could,” he said. “Would you honor me with a dance?”
She deliberated for a moment, trying to decide whether or not she wanted to dance with a complete and total stranger, for all she knew. She decided that it couldn’t do much harm. Maybe, if she was lucky Potter would see this and decide to leave her alone. “Sure.”
He smiled at her and led her onto the dance floor as a slow song started. He danced with her, holding her close to him. Completely loving the feeling, she looked pretty happy, too. He was pleasantly surprised to note, then he remembered she didn’t know it was him, why shouldn’t she be happy?
A shriek broke through his thoughts though and he realized that the grand plan was going down. He heard the bark-like laughter of Sirius, who everyone turned to face. Beside him were Remus, Peter and a James look-a-like. Who were all laughing at the sight above them. Filch was hanging to the wall by his underwear. Everyone laughed as they watched him struggle against the magic that bound him there.
James was a bit surprised to hear Lily giggle quietly. He looked at her and raised an eyebrow. “I thought you hated those Marauders and their pranks.”
“Yeah well it’s Filch, I think that this time it’s actually pretty funny,” she said with a shrug, her green eyes sparkling.
As everyone was looking at Filch another spell was shot toward the ceiling. Soon everyone was looking around to discover that their hair had been changed to an almost blinding shade of orange, with black streaks down the middle. Screams of girls filled the hall, one right in James’s ear.
He looked over at Lily who was glaring toward his fellow Marauders, especially at the look-a-like of him. He could sense she was about to go stomping over to yell at them any moment and decided to act quickly. “Hey how about you go yell at them later and we finish dancing?”
She still looked absolutely furious and opened her mouth to tell him that there was no way. He gave her a look that asked her to reconsider. “Please?” he said.
Her eyes softened a little. “Alright, I guess it won’t hurt to yell at them tomorrow.”
He grinned. “No it wouldn’t,” he agreed. They began to dance again and he realized that this Halloween had turned out to be quite good. They should do Muggle Halloweens more often around here,
Remus and Sirius watched their best friend dance with the girl of his dreams. They smiled a little bit, it looked that maybe all those years of scheming might have paid off… for now anyway.
“Well it looks like James had his cake and ate it, too,” Remus said.
“What cake?” Sirius asked, looking at Remus confused.
“It means he got to prank and get Lily, too,” Remus explained.
“Wait isn’t it Halloween?” Sirius said.
“Yes…” Remus didn’t see what his point was. “What’s that got to do with anything?”
“So wouldn’t he have his candy and eat it, too?” Sirius asked. “Cause you get candy for Halloween right? Not cake?”
Remus rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but chuckle a little. “Yeah Padfoot he had his candy and ate it, too.”

Albus Dumbeldore hummed under his breath as he sat down at the Ravenclaw table for breakfast. Polishing off his pancakes, he turned as the Headmaster stood up. “As all of you should know by now, today is Halloween – which means there will be a celebration this evening at six. One to third year will be out on the Quidditch Pitch for activities while students fourth year and up will in the Great Hall” As the Headmaster sat down, the students turned to one another discussing the upcoming events.
Walking to his next class, Albus’s friend, Livoin, ran up to him waving a flyer. “Albus, are you going to participate in the Costume Contest?” Sucking on his lemon drops that he always carried with him Albus read that the fourth year and up party was going to include: costume contest, apple bobbing, transfigure contest, and trick or treat groups to the nearby town, Hogsmede.
“I don’t know what to wear though.” Albus told his friend as he mentally scolled through his mind on what kind of clothes he had. Bright purple, green, and blue for muggle clothing and bright red, blue and purple for robes. Not much – unless he was to be a clown…
Livion rolled his eyes and said, “Just put your combination of clothes together and you can be some kind of pirate.” He said laughing since he was always amused at his friend, Albus’s fashion sense.
Wearing his mismatched bright clothing and his transfigured patch as he walked into the Great Hall with Livion who was now dressed like some foreign king. Realizing that Livion had now wandered of to who knows where, Albus joined the crowd of people standing by a huge banner that said: Apple Bobbing.
It seemed to him as if he had just gotten in line when it was his turn to bob for the apples floating in a big bucket of water. After several failed attempts, wet clothing, and losing his eye patch, the seventh year that was in charge of apple bobbing event glared at Albus “Look kid, just grab one with your hand so that other people can have a turn” Blushing in embarrassment, Albus quickly ran off with his dripping apple and joined the transfigure contest nearby.
“Okay dearies, I want you all to transfigure this rock into a carved pumpkin. Whoever has the best one get’s this bag of lemon drops and a twenty house points” announced the Herbology Professor. Humming in anticipation to win the lemon drops, he waved his wand and transfigured it to a scary looking pumpkin. Looking around he saw that even some of the seventh year contestant were having some trouble. “Ooh, Albus right? You win the transfigure contest… good job dear!” She handed him the bag of candy which he slipped into his pocket to save for later.
He quickly met up with King Livion and they joined the trick or treat groups to the village. Albus Dumbledore decided that Halloween was his favorite holiday from now on – after all there was going to be lots and lots of candy.

For this class I want you to write an account of a Halloween inside the halls of Hogwarts past, any time period is acceptable. For instance, you can set a story in the Maruader's era, or the first Halloween ever at Hogwarts. Part OneWrite an account or story of a past Hogwarts Halloween of at least 400 words. 40 pts It was Luna’s last year at Hogwarts and as she slowly made her way down to the Great Hall all she could think about how this was going to be her last Halloween here. As soon as she entered the Great Hall she quickly spotted the many decorations set about the castle. At the ceiling that reflected the sky out side there where jack-o-lanterns floating beneath the starry sky, up at the teachers table there where skeletons each wearing a suit and tie playing an instrument and floating throughout the Hall, talking to the students where the many ghosts that inhabit the school. Luna giggled at the skeletons as she made her way over the table covered in blue, this was the Ravenclaw table. Just as she was able to take a seat she quickly spotted her friend Ginny. As soon as she had taken their seats, Luna slowly walked over to the Gryffindor table and sat down beside her.
“Hello” Luna said in her dreamily voice. “Nice decorations aren’t they.”
“Yes” Ginny said as she looked around the Great Hall. “I love the skeletons.”
“Yes, they are nice.” Luna replied looking at the jack-o-lanterns above their heads.
“Oh yes, I just remembered.” Ginny said as she pulled out a letter in her bag. “Ron sent me a letter. He said that he is making lots of money helping out George and that he and Hermione are going to get married as soon as school is out!” Ginny exclaimed as she shoved the note under Luna’s face.
“Oh, that’s nice” Luna said after she read the letter and handed it back to Ginny. Luna then watched as Ginny placed the latter back into her bag and started to place food onto her plate.
“Also Neville said that he is going to study Herbology and become the next Herbology teacher here after Professor Sprout leaves. Harry and Ron of course or going to become Aurors and Hermione is going to work in the Ministry.” Ginny added as she picked up her fork. ”Luna you can stay here and eat at our table instead of going back to the Ravenclaw table.”
“Oh, I guess I could” Luna said as she too got a plate and started to eat some food. After they had finished eating they both left the Great Hall feeling full and sleepy. Once they had reached the staircase Luna went to go to the Ravenclaw Common Room but Ginny insisted that she would come to Gryffindor’s Common Room instead since they where going to have a little party there before the night was over. Luna agreed and they both made their way there. Once inside Luna quickly spotted that the room had already started the party without them. Everywhere she looked she quickly spotted many Weasley products and saw to her amusement that one of the young boys there where tricked into eating a puking pastry which caused him to throw up everywhere. Then just as they where about to get some more butterbeer their party was disturbed by one of the teachers and Luna was then forced to return to the Ravenclaw Common Room.
Part TwoCreate a graphic cover page for your story, the image should be no larger than 600 X 800. 10 pts

Hope it’s ok that I’m doing it like Herby did- Halloween at HE! Enjoy the slipped in lyrics from the movies XD
And I knooooow that some lyrics belonged to different characters- ok, you won’t understand that now –read :D
Er…a bit long…*smiles innocently*
A PiC Halloween
“I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date!” chirped Lifey as she sped down the grand staircase. She came to a skidding stop at the door to the great hall. Smoothing the skirt of her Alice in Wonderland dress, she headed into the crowded hall. She stood on the toes of her black Alice shoes, looking over the heads of the other students for her other two PiC. Not surprisingly, she heard them before she saw them.
“Look, that’s all I ask of you!” said Elana, tugging on Jenn’s long Mulan sleeve. “Just help me get the flowers in right, please! Why oh why did Christine’s hair have to be so complex,” she said with a moan. She held out a palm full of tiny white flowers towards her friend, beaming.
“Who is this girl I see?” asked Jenn, rolling her eyes as she began placing the flowers in Elana’s hair. “Usually you don’t give a hoot about how you look! And now, fussing about your hair?”
She muttered incoherently until Jenn finished with a, “There- you’re ready. With good fortune and a great hairdo,” she added with a grin. The jubilant Elana spun around to give her a hug, and spotted Lifey coming their way. She squealed happily, and ducked under Jenn’s light blue parasol to get to her.
“Goodness, you’re adorable!” exclaimed Elana, taking in Lifey’s Alice costume. The girl smiled, and replied, “Whom did you expect? And you’re stunning, both of you!”
Elana spun around, her peachy-cream dress swirling around her, and Jenn smiled, twirling the parasol. “Thanks!” they replied.
“I hear that Draco’s going to be there,” Lifey said with an excited giggle. “There’s a wealth of happiness and romance- c’mon, let’s go!”
“Happiness and romance?” piped up Jenn. “What are we waiting for?” In an undertone, she added, “Ancestors, hear my plea, help me not to make a fool of me…”
“What was that, Jenn?” asked a puzzled Elana. When she didn’t reply, Elana shrugged, and followed Jenn with Lifey as she strode into the hall.
It was true- happiness and romance awaited all that stepped forth into the Halloween Ball; charming princes, dashing knights, fountains of chocolate, roses in the garden…and three unusually dressed guys heading for them. Trying to hold back laughter as the Mad Hatter, Phantom, and Shang casually came over, the girls beamed with pleasure.
“Dressed to match, of course,” said the Phantom, his mask revealing sparkling blue eyes and a shock of orange hair. He took Elana’s outstretched hand and kissed it, making the usually composed Raven giggle uncontrollably.
“Should have expected you to be here, Ron,” she said, grinning. The other two were getting similar greetings- Lifey from Draco dressed as the Mad Hatter (“Only for you, love.”) and Jenn from Blaise as Shang (“It's great! The sleeves cover the Mark!”). The evening went on without incident for a time, each couple dancing, or socializing, or taking a stroll through the gardens. Ah, the gardens. A lovely place to take a break from the chaos inside.
“Jenn, have you seen Lana lately?” asked Lifey in a hushed whisper as they waited for their dates, who were getting them drinks.
“Not since that song about the Hippo.”
Lifey sighed, and said, “Just like her to go off missing. Shall we?”
They began to search the room…
“Hey, has Luna been acting strangely tonight? Well, strange as in not like herself?”
“Now that you mention it, she has!”
Taking their time getting the punch, Draco and Blaise exchanged perplexed looks over the bowl.
“Do you think…”
“Surely not Polyjuice!”
“But what could they want to gain? Who could they be?”
They dropped the cups, and ducked down, out of sight, to discuss the possibilities.
“I must go - they'll wonder where I am . . .wait for me, Ron!”
“Hermione, I love you!”
Elana whirled around, eyes narrowed. “What did you call me?”
“Hermy, I don’t under-”
“You- You think I’m Hermione?! That’s ridiculous!”
Meanwhile, Lifey and Jenn were rushing through the room, asking everyone about the whereabouts of their missing partner.
“She’s in a world of her own- about yea high, peachy dress, brown curly hair-"
“A girl who's got a brain who always speaks her mind? She would’ve said something about the fit of your dress- have you seen her?”
“JENNIFER WILLIAMS!” came a cry from the door. “LIFEY!”
Hearing the familiar melodic screech, they quickly said their goodbyes to whomever they were questioning, and rushed to the door. “Elana, where have you been? What’s going on?” asked Jenn, taking in her friend’s ruffled appearance.
“It’s Ron- he, he thinks I’m HERMIONE! Hermione, of all people!”
Astounded by this unreasonable accusation, Lifey gasped. “How dare he!”
“I know! So-”
She tugged Lifey and Jenn behind the giant jack-o-lantern and continued, “I left him in the garden, told him to come back inside once he had regained his memory.” Elana shook her head, sighing. “Have either of you noticed something different about them tonight?” she asked. “Ron saying that, it’s just not right. It was like he thought he was at the actual Hogwarts, and I was really- really her!”
“I guess…Blaise, he kept talking about some DE mission, but my Blaise was never a Death Eater!” exclaimed Jenn.
“And Draco was wondering where my radish earrings were…”
“Do you think…”
“Surely not Polyjuice!”
“Draco, Blaise, what are you-”
The two Slytherins pulled Ron down under the refreshment table where they were having their conference. “The girls, they’re fakes!”
“You’re just realizing that?” Ron scoffed with a soft laugh.
“Look, not all of us have the outstanding sixth-sense of Aurors, okay?”
Ron grinned, and said, “So, have you come to the same conclusion as I have? Polyjuice?”
Blaise nodded gravely, and Draco said, “We have to catch them before they get what they want!”
After a slight pause, Ron prodded, “Which is…?”
“Haven’t gotten that figured out yet, so we’ll just prevent them from drinking anything or getting out of our sight. They should be turning into themselves by the next hour.”
“So we just keep them with us and don’t let them drink anything!”
“That way they’ll turn back into themselves in,” Lifey checked her watch, “five minutes!”
“All right, ladies,” said Elana, standing up and brushing off her dress. “We’ve got to find them, and please don’t say anything to give us away!”
“Do you not trust us at all? It’s not like we’d say that we know that they’ve drunk Polyjuice to turn into the guys!”
“Did I hear…Polyjuice?” asked a familiar voice. Blaise, Draco, and Ron came around the jack-o-lantern, smiling. “What’s this all about? Where have you been?”
“Nothing, we were just…” Lifey looked to the others for help.
Jenn checked Lifey’s watch- four minutes. “Just getting her hair to stick!” she said with a cheerful smile- and a swift nudge at Elana’s calf. “The flowers kept falling out, and she couldn’t have that!”
Turning her grimace into a guilty grin, Elana said, “Sorry to worry you.”
They stood in silence for a few minutes, the girls still fussing over the hair, and the guys checking watches every few moments. Any minute now…The watches struck eleven. The group exchanged glances with one another, and momentarily it was a cacophony of accusations.
A girl’s scream as her hair wouldn’t come off-
A man’s roar of anger as one grabbed his ear in an attempt to rip his mask off-
“Didn’t ask for directions?” asked Jenn, folding her arms across her chest. “None of us are imposters- you’ve come to the wrong Hogwarts- if you haven’t noticed, there’s a giant purple hippo handing out glow necklaces. Don’t have that at your Hogwarts, hmm?”
“Of course!” Elana sighed. “That’s why they’ve been acting so strangely, they’re the real ones, not ours!”
The girls broke into a chorus of laughter, into which the guys joined in.
“Guess we’d better be going…sorry about your hair,” said Draco with a guilty smile at Lifey.
“Sorry about your face,” she replied sweetly.
And they lived happily ever after…until the Holiday Ball.
